Floating Villa oceanic catamaran 48
FBDW FLOATING VILLA 48 A new vision of life at sea. FBDW — Fabio Battista Design Workshop Floating Villa 48 is an architectural vision for a new generation of yachts: a floating residence conceived as a contemporary villa rather than a conventional superyacht. The project explores a new relationship between architecture, the sea and contemporary luxury living. THE CONCEPT What if a yacht could feel like a villa? Floating Villa 48 transforms the traditional yacht into a three-dimensional living environment where interior and exterior spaces continuously merge. Large glazed surfaces, generous terraces, open-plan interiors and direct contact with the sea create an experience closer to contemporary residential architecture than traditional yacht design. ARCHITECTURE 48 m length 12 m beam 3 living decks + roof deck The architecture is organised around a sequence of horizontal volumes, terraces and panoramic spaces. Each level has its own relationship with the sea, creating a continuous vertical landscape. BEACH DECK At water level, the yacht becomes a private beach club. A generous outdoor area combines: * swimming pool * sun decks * lounge areas * direct access to the sea * tender and water-toy areas The boundary between yacht and beach house almost disappears. MAIN DECK The main living level is conceived as an open contemporary villa. A panoramic living room, dining area, chef’s kitchen and outdoor terraces form one continuous environment. Floor-to-ceiling glazing maximises natural light and panoramic views. OWNER’S DECK The owner’s residence occupies a private level of the yacht. The master suite, spa bathroom, dressing area and private terrace are conceived as a secluded residence above the sea. ROOF DECK The roof becomes a Mediterranean garden. A private lounge, bar, outdoor cinema and landscaped areas create a destination for sunset and evening living. INTERIOR DESIGN The interiors combine natural materials, warm timber, refined textiles and expansive glazing. The design language is intentionally residential: calm, sophisticated and timeless. Every space is designed around the same principle: living with the sea, rather than simply looking at it. A NEW YACHT TYPOLOGY Floating Villa 48 is part of an ongoing FBDW research into the evolution of yacht architecture. The project explores the convergence of: Architecture + Yacht Design + Luxury Living The next evolution of this research will be the FBDW Floating Villa Catamaran — a wider architectural platform conceived around a central water courtyard.
